My neurologist has warned me about exercising too hard or too much. He told me not to live on a couch, but don't overdo....I do a lot of walking and do fine with it However, after a major snow storm I helped my husband shovel snow for 2 hours and ended up having a seizure. Everybody is different, so finding that "perfect" amount and type of exercise is somewhat trial and error. Good luck.

I'm so glad I found this forum. My 18 year old son has had E since he was 14. He initially had three GM seizures within 6 months while playing video games. He then went on meds and was seizure free for a few years until July. Since then, he has been having CPS about once a month. He has played competitive soccer all his life and just in the last few months has been having seizures in the first 15 minutes of a game. He now warms up before hand and that seems to be working. however, after having just got back from spending A week at an epilepsy clinic we found out his seizures are caused by having focal cortical dysplasia.
Additionally, they did an echocardiogram and had him wear a cardiac halter monitor for 24 hours. Everything came back fine with his heart, but they are concerned about the exercise causing him seizures. They said about three out of a thousand people can have a serious complication.
Has anyone heard of this before? Would appreciate any feedback.

I have had partials more than a few times exercising.
I work out at home and I don't go crazy.
I try to take it slow and not push myself too hard.
And I usually keep them to about 30 minutes.
I never had a grand mal seizure while working out but I've come damn close a few times.
I could feel them building but I would lay on the floor for a while and it would pass.
Though I did have one once about a half hour after I finished.
