KenMy son has experienced

KenMy son has experienced seizures after eating as well as during other times during the day.His seizures have not been controlled by anti-seizure medications, vagus nerve stimulation, or the NeuroPace devise. He began taking 500mg of L-Tryptophan prior to eating along with his other seizure medications (breakfast, lunch and dinner) and has experienced 15 seizure free days over the past 16 days. He generally experiences 3-5 seizures daily and has for years. L-Tryptophan is an amino acid that must be ingested and competes with other amino acids for transport across the blood brain barrier so my hypothesis is that increasing the L-Trytophan level in the blood stream increases its availability in the brain to help synthesize  other compounds that are essential to help control neurotransmitters. I will be sharing this with his physician at our next appointment in February. It is working for us and we are excited that this may be a breakthrough to help him regain independence and a normal life. If you would like to read an article I found, look up L-Trypophan: Basic Metabolic Functions, Behavioral Reseach and Therapeutic Indications by The International Journal of Tryptophan Research dated 03/23/2009

I have refractory partial

I have refractory partial complex seizures. Wherever I am or whatever I am doing when they occur, I fall.  I have no warning.  In the past few months, I have fractured my shoulder and three ribs among other injuries.Recently I have begun having seizures either while eating or shortly after eating.  It seems to happens more after eating carbs. Twice this week I have fallen after eating unsweetened organic whole grain oatmeal. It happened again yesterday.  I awoke on the floor with a very deep cut over my left eye.  As near as I can tell, I was out for around 20 minutes.I have no idea why eating foods that weren't a problem a month ago are now causing seizures.  I would appreciate any information that might help.Thank you.
