Feet problems

Sun, 09/03/2006 - 20:23
My 16 year old daugther who was dx with seizures 4 years ago and currently takes Topamax 100mg twice a day is experiencing problems with her feet. If she stands or sits for long periods of time her feet will turn purple. She is small for her age weighing only 94 pounds but eats well. The doctors state that its because she is underweight. Just wondering if anyone else has experienced this problem before I take her to another specialist. Luckily, she has not had a seizure for a while; however does suffer from intense headaches. Thank you "Alexia's Mom"

That sounds more like a problem with circulation than weight! maybe you should get a second opinion!

You might check for Neuropathy which can do that too if you are Diabetic. Diabetes is common with teens and usually there is a weight loss too. Simple blood draw will be all she needs. Hugs Joan
