Seizures after Sex

Tue, 05/27/2008 - 16:27
I've had seizures since I was 9 and am 36 now needless to say that means through out my entire sex life and 15 years of marriage. But, last night for the first time ever I had a partial complex seizure after sex with my wife and wondered if this had happened to anyone else and if a doctor had told them anything about it?

KNOW WELL WHAT YOU MEAN !!

I'd be dishonest if I didn't say that after having lived with epilepsy in a multitude of forms for over 35 years that orgasm (either after sex or masturbation) can bring on a seizure. There's nothing I know that can be counted on more to do this than sex. Yet when I've mentioned this to neurologists, they are all to quick to reply, "No way!". Face it, orgasm involves a multitude of parts of the human body, including our blood vessels and all of the nerves in our precious brain. And I do know that the brain has much to do with our whole need for sex, what we actually do when performing it, and how we come out of it. I've asked many men who have epilepsy if this is true with them, and most all have answered "Definitely."

Let me ask you all THIS: Is the seizure, whether before, and causing orgasm...or after, being induced BY orgasm...in anyway pleasurable/unpleasureable? For me, the one is just an extension of the other...both an enjoyable aspect.

Hi,

No doctor will talk directly about sex but...

what also can trigger a seizure is HIPERVENTILATION- which means fast (or very fast) respiration- like when we run, exercise or... have sex.

Happy me I never seize because of sex :)

Good luck,

Ola
