I am 44, have had a hysterectomy and on Carbitrol.  I have NO sex drive at all.  Does anyone have advice????

Hi Diana,

I am 32 and on Keppra and I certainly had a dramatic decrease in drive since I began these meds a year ago. I have just recently switched to Zonegran (the Keppra made me excessively fatigued and didn't control my seizures), so I'll see what it has in store. My neuro said there are options like adding in an antidepressant if I still experience the loss of sex drive. I'd suggest talking to your doc for options.

Good luck!

Wow. . .

Just read through all these posts and that was my response...Wow. Really? As if we don't deal with enough other side effects to throw this in the picture as well.

Do ALL Epilepsy meds seem to cause these problems? I mean, I know we are all effected differently but I am curious as to if they all have the same dumb side effect?  I currently take Tegretol XR, Keppra, and Vimpat. All 3 are very high doses and seizures are still uncontrolled. It seems to me that most of your doctors think you are making it up or something??? I mean, what the heck?! I think I might be struggling with this myself...but am not sure just yet...sometimes I think its just nerves.

Is there anywhere I can find some info on this as far as Tegretol, Keppra, and Vimpat are concerned?

Thanks!!
