seizures with periods

Had a few questions and didn't know if anyone could help.  Back in March I began taking Dexatrim diet pills.  I was fine for about 10 days and when I got my period, I had my first 2 seizures.  The first one happened around noon, my husband was home and he called for an ambulance.  They took me to the hospital, ran tests and discharged me around 5:30.  I came home and pretty much went to bed.  Around 1:00 am I had another seizure, my husband took me back to the hospital and they admitted me.  I was there for 2 days and they ran all kinds of tests.  Everything came back ok and the neurologist blamed the pills.  I didn't have any more seizures until last Tuesday night.  We went to an amusement park, I took a Dramimine around 11am.  We came home, I got my period, went to bed and around 5:30 am I had another seizure.  I called my doctor and the neurologist.  My doctor said to get the 6-hour EEG done.  I have it scheduled.  My neurologist called me last night and told me to get an EEG and MRI scheduled ASAP.  I am  in the process right now.  Didn't know if anyone had any insight.  I am a 36 year old woman, mother of 2 small children who never had any problems until March.  Thanks for any insight.

When I first found out I had epilepsy, I stared getting seizures right around the time my period typically began. I went in for a numerous amount of test and EEGs. The only thing my doctor ever suggested was changing the type and amount of my medication. So we did. Since then I don't get seizure as often it's only when I'm extremly stressed or something of that sort. I suggest staying off the diet pills. They are not good for those of us with this conditon.

I had a seizure in Sept 2008, which drove my partner crazy.  She or I didn't know what happen.  She called 911 and the next thing I know strange people where in the bedroom.  What Happen?  I'm 49 and that day was one in 2 weeks that my period was on; pre-menopause.  I knew it would happen, but not like this.  Had all kind of test and nero found nothing. My period came and went in Nov and Dec but Jan I had another, and another in March exactly when my period is on.  They only happen, thank goodness when I'm asleep.  Going to a nutrition class, I fell asleep, dosed off and had another.  Wow, the nutritionist knew my doctor and I had an appointment immediatly.  He prescribed Dilantin 300 mg.  I'm taking it now.  I'm one who doesn't like taking alot of medicines.  I had to take this.  So far, tired, hot, night sweats, no seizure but my period is off.  I'm hoping my irregular periods will not trigger another seizure.  I'm only 49 and probably have 3-7 more years of menopause reaction.  Please let this Dilantin help me.  I afraid.  Please someone let me know you went though this and you're ok. Please!!

So I started having simple partial seizures (self-diagnosed) post-partum with my first child. They went away when I was pergnant with my daughter, After her birth, they started again, but are very very infrequent- like one every few months? The past two days I've had them each day. I was wondering if anyone thinks this might be a sign of returning fertility- rise in estrogen?

My nursling baby has been completely sleeping through the night the past four nights, too. So that might have some effect?

Anyone know anything about this?
