Smoking cigarettes and seizures....

Sat, 07/30/2005 - 00:07
I've been a smoker for about 13 years or so now. I'm not a heavy smoker by any means, and I go through a pack every 3-4 days. I just wanted to find out from "other smokers" on this site or any non-smokers who even may know....Does smoking affect epilepsy at all?

Yes it does. And if you think you're not a heavy smoker, think again. one pack in 3-4 days is still a lot. I used to smoke a bit but quit. Smoking does make youre seizures increase. Once I was smoking with a friend, I ended up having 2 seizures after that on that day.  It's bad for you! Stop while you can. Because if you get lung cancer on top of your seizures... think of how you'll feel. My aunt died of 2nd hand smoke. So please, stop smoking while you can!

ok first of all. I have been smoking for 6 years and i go through about a pack and a half a day and nothing has happened to me at all. So he doesnt want to know about your personal life he wants advice about it. So give him advice and not your family history.

I gave up in January after 20 years smoking and had my first ever seizure last Sunday - so my question is... can quitting induce seizures?
