Burning and tingling in hands and arms?

Tue, 06/17/2008 - 20:54
Does anyone have burning or tingling feeling in their fingers, hands and on up? I'm new to this and I don't know if its my medicine or something else. It's really scary!

Sounds like possible side effects to meds......April/May 2006 I started taking Trileptal....can remember getting tingling sensations. However it could of been from several things.....going OFF Depakote OR when I STARTED the Trileptal, without getting more confused there were other circumstances....having said that.....it is Jun/July 2008 the tingling is there BUT not as strong of a sensation so I'm not sure yet what is the cause. However if your sensation gets stronger there is an underlining problem. Do as what your doctor would advise.....keep a journal and record how you feel that day--scale of 1-10. Take care.....

Can't beleive it. I'm not alone!Just wondering if anyone else  had had this experience as  I think I woke myself during seiure whilst sleeping last night.I had heavy tingling especially down my arms .I usually only get this before night siezures getting up in early hours but not one like this during sleep. I have always had vivid dreams but am sure this was real , I  tried to wake and it was difficult but  relieved when I did! I have been especially groggy past few days ,today especially and wondered if this was connected still feel quite"out of  it"? I was diagnosed with late onset/complex partial/left temporal lobe in 2004-5 but looking back on my earlier years though less frequent I am sure that I have had this throughout my life. Not as concerned but relieved someone else has shared these experiences and relieved they had not neccessarially been my imagination!

since you didn't say what your meds are, it would be hard but it could very well be a side effect of it or them.  With the Topamax, I get this in both hands and feet.

On anti-depressants, I get this as well - really bad - both hands/feet, arms/legs.

If you do anything repetitive with your fingers (like keying for awhile) or are pregnant, etc.. could be Carpal Tunnel.  Diabetes causes this in feet and toes really bad but some get it in the fingers as well.

You really need to speak with your Neurologist because it could be something totally aside from seizures themselves.
