Is it a seizure?

I have had epilepsy my entire life. For the past 25 years I have been almost 100% controlled with the exception of a few complex partial seizures. However, 3 years ago I began having the most unbelievable experiences that still have not been completely diagnosed. I have these episodes where I lose all feeling in my legs and cannot feel my feet touch the floor, my speech becomes slurred, I get dizzy and see stars, sometimes I feel paralyzed on the right side of my face, and I feel like I am in a different world. I was diagnosed with TIA's but I am not convinced at all that that is what they are. I have no inidcators of hardening of the arteries or any other symptom that would give me a TIA. My present neuro says that they are seizures and auras and he put me on an additonal medication. I had a total hysterectomy 2 years ago and when my gynecological problems started so did these episodes. Has anyone ever heard of something like ths? I was checked for all the obvious, brain tumor, MS, muscle problems, just to name a few. I am desperate and confused.

probably. have had similar type. the migraines response is possible, but the seizures can cause the migraine type symptoms. some times a med change is the right thing. listen to the doc and learn all you can, make the decesion you feel is best. the one question i think is necessary for you to answer is do you think it is a seizure. it is difficult to think about adding something on top of seizure. hope it helps. if questions, feel free to e-mail. rikk

oh my gosh, thank you rikk! I was wondering if seizures could possibly cause migraines! Awesome, thank you! Thats what i was wpondering was happening to me!!

hmmm indeed that is peculiar..i have a question though..do you ever have headaches? like, extremely bad? this is just a thought that im throwing out, but there is a type of aura that comes from a migraine..in rare cases the aura paralyzes one part of the body, or blinds the person for the duration of the aura..when i read your note that was the first thing i thought of..but if im wrong..which i probably am =) then yah i think that that may very well be a seizure.
