Breakthrough seizure caused by lack of sleep

Sun, 10/12/2008 - 02:58
Due to some of the pressure I am under I do not get enough sleep. Last night was one of those examples where I chose to work extra and it caused me to have a breakthrough seizure after 6 weeks of having no seizures whatsoever. Is it really important to tell my neurologist about this? He will only prescribe more medicine for me or recommend that I have surgery, neither one of which I want. What is the best thing to do?

That's an interesting question. From what I understand, having too many seizures increases the likelihood of having more seizures. Eventually, this could lead to brain damage.

What kind of surgery was it? My neurologist hasn't given me a good explanation about this. Has it helped you?
