keppra and psychotic behavior

Tue, 09/09/2008 - 12:36
my daughter is 11 and just started having grand mal seizures in may 08. in june she was put on keppra 500mg twice a day. a couple weeks ago she started having  what looked like focal seizures. but the drs say its not a seizure. they think its behavioral or maybe even hallucinations. if anyone has had this happen to them please help me. i and the neurologists have taken her off but im worried that the keppra may have caused permenant damage. she also had trouble walking and needed a wheelchair to get around as i cannot carry a 106lb child!

My daughter is also on Keppra and they actually increased it to try and control her absence seizures, but as they increased it so did the mood swings, fits, hitting, kicking, crying and so much more! It has been horrible. I called the dr on Friday and they decreased it again due to all of the side effects. If it were up to me, I would have her off of it. Im gonna see if they will swith to Zarontin for the Absence seizures. Good luck, I know its hard!

my daughter is just starting keppra, and all of a sudden she says that she hears voices in her head,  and is really drowsy.  has anyone else experience this?
