Does anyone else feel like you know when your seizure is coming?
Fri, 01/25/2008 - 16:03Hey, I'm new...I've had epilepsy since I was about 11...I'm almost 18 now. Anyways, sometimes, most days when I'm about to have a seizure, throughout the day, I have these weird "feelings". I can't really describe it, but I think there is a word for it, like a warning signal I guess. I don't know if anyone knows what I'm talking about. But the feeling is really weird, like all of a sudden, I get the chills, and my body feels cold, and I get this weird feeling, almost like a da sha vuu, like I remember "thinking" this thought before, but then I forget it. I don't know...it's very weird, and I know I'm probably not making any sense. Anyways, I know I'm not having a seizure then because I am fully conscious and don't make any movements. But I might have a few of those moments through out the day leading up to my seziure.
Anyways, I was just wondering if anyone else got thos feelings, since I suspect it's related to my epilepsy. Or maybe you want to share any other ways you know you're seziure is coming on.
I have complex partial seizures by the way.

ooooh yes. you know when you look directly at the sun and then look away? i get that in my right eye and it pulsates. but i only have about 20 seconds tp get to the ground and yell at some one before the grand. we are really lucky when we can tell when they are coming.

Oh em gee yes. I used to have them often during the day but never actually had a seizure, just felt the aura. My doctor told me it was still a seizure and I should be careful of them. I am now on lamictal and I haen't had one in a while but sometimes at school if i'm nervous or tired I get nervous that i'll have an aura and sometimes i do but i try really hard and think that i 'm ok and i won't have a seizure. this site is so amazing and i'm starting to feel as if i'm not the only person who has these worries. people often ask me what my aura is like and i can never explain it. just know alot of us are just like you and are experiencing the same things. if you need someone to chat with i'm here for ya. :)
