72 hour EEG?
Mon, 04/14/2008 - 11:56I just had an EEG at my neurologist's office on Friday. After the test, the technician said "You were really drowsy - I hope you don't need a 72 hour EEG." Does anyone know why a 72 hour EEG might be prescribed? All the technician said was that the doctor would order one "if he didn't see what he wants to" in the results. I'm not sure what that means.

If the eeg you had does not show something the Dr. may want to do one for 72 hours in hopes of getting something in that amount of time. Usually adults get to wear it around with them and kids have to be in the hospital.
