this hair loss is ruining my life.

you guys...i need your help. i am experiencing MAJOR hair loss while on topamax & lamictal. my eyebrows are thinning and im terrified if i dont do something i might go bald and lose my eyebrows. problem is, i'm also on a thyroid medicine called armour. none of it is helping. i have like 3 doctors. a neuro, endochronologist & a homopathic doctor. he believes its the topamax & lamictal slowing down my endochrine system. now, thank god, i have been seizure free for 2 years and can finally drive. do you guys think its worth it to risk having a seizure to save my hair? i know it all comes down to what i want to do but what would you do if you were in my position. it's really ruining my life. thanks....

i am so paranoid now

i was lookin on here to find out about topomax because the lamictal is makin me gain a lot of weight, then i saw on here about topomax causing hair loss. So i looked up lamictal and hair loss and i see a lot of people have lost hair on that too and now im very paranoid because lately i been losing a lot of hair and had no idea why. Now that i know i am freaking out because i love my hair and as sad as it is i would rather have a seizure everyonce in awhile then lose my hair

My son is only on Lamictal and losing tons of hair.  He is nearly bald on top at the age of 20.  Is there anything I can do to help him?  If he changed meds would his hair grow back?  Is there anything to help his hair come back?  What is this biotin?  Also, his neurologist is unhelpful with this issue.  He used to be on Depakote and did not lose any hair- go figure.

Hey there, once I got to 200mg of Topomax my hair was falling out. I got referred to a gyno and a dermatologist who both concluded it was the meds. Although was it the meds or stress caused from the situation and taking the meds. You will see some of my posts above. Eventually 3 months ago I came of the topomax as I did feel so distressed about the hairloss - it depends how attached you are to it. I had long hair, which i have had to cut its so thin and it still hasn't recovered now. I tried everything and am still using hair vitamins and special lotions now. You have to weigh up whats best for you at the end of the day and remember what causes side affects in one person may not in an other. Best wishes Bex
