I was happy to find this site and read the comments of people like me.  I started with the seizures about eight years ago.  It happened at work and my boss called an ambulance and I wound up in the hospital.   It wasn't a grand mal, but I guess I acted weird enough for them to think I was in need of medical attention.  I am awake during my seizures but cannot respond to anyone that talks to me and I can't understand what they are saying either.  I was able to drive even,  although it only happened once while I was behind the wheel and I was only a few blocks away from home, but I did fine.  Last month I had a grand mal seizure and aspirated, I quit breathing.  I wound up with Aspiration Pneomonia... I was pretty sick.  Naturally, I no longer drive.  Does anyone else have the the type of seizures where talking & understanding are the issue?
