DILANTIN LEVELS GOIN HIGHER IN SPITE OF LOWERING DOSES

My husband has been on dilantin for over 10 years to treat his seizures, he went toxic about 2 years ago , and they never did figure out why. But since then we have lowered his dose over 100 mgs and his levels keep peaking closer to the toxic level. When I ask the Doc why he says it could be the medical smoke, or the valuim should be weaned off of. I disagreed with both as the smoke is the only thing in 10 years that along with the valuim has FINALLY TOTALLT CONTROLLLED his attacks. So I was just wondering what input others have on this subject or have experinced. My husband has gone from uncontrolled numerous seizures downto about one a year and we thank god and we know the marijuana is for his lifesaver.

My late father had epilepsy for almost 20 years and was prescribed with controlled medicine but that will make hime feel giddy all the time. I feel scared when I even recalled his several fits in a day and was sent to hospital. It's all over.

This is really scary. I think it's better to go for tradition chinese medicine as there are lesser side effects.

My brother-in-law has a great response to medical marijuana as well.  It is a shame that there is such a stigma associated with it.  I wish only the best for your husband and yourself.  Good Luck!

Sorry to hear about your husband hope it really helps him. Marijuana can also be classified something with medical properties however control the intake and its dosage so as not to get him addicted. You may want to consult a professional doctor and get few opinions rather than relying on only one doctor.

I would say if it is working keep doing it, or get a second a opinion.  I am all for medical marijuana if it is working for him.  But dont get off anything without talking with a doc. I hope the best for you husband !

I have to agree with you on this one! If it helps keep going on with it!
