Desperate for Any Information RE: Corpus Colostomy Surgery

My name is Kim
Carpenter and we have a son, AJ who will be 10 in April 2009. AJ has every
seizure type there is (Lennox-Gastaut Syndrome), including atonic (head/body
drops) tonic and tonic-clonic seizures. AJ's seizures get worse at night when he's trying to fall asleep (nocturnal) and I’ve been having to
give him rectal valium almost nightly since February 11, 2009. Sometimes the
rectal valium stops the seizures and sometimes it doesn’t. Sometimes AJ seizes
all night long. AJ takes Lamictal, Keppra and Dilantin (after trying everything
else since diagnosed at age 14 months) and also has a Vagus Nerve Stimulator
(has had for 6 years and is on 2nd battery) and is on the Ketogenic
Diet 2nd time around for almost 2 years. As you can tell, we’ve tried pretty much everything thus far, except the
corpus colostomy, which I am now considering out of pure
desperation.

Any information is greatly appreciated.

Thank you and God Bless.

Warmly, Kim Carpenter Email: carpenterclan@cox.net
