Well, it has been 10 months that Darren has been on keppra and as far as we know has been seizure-free.  On Friday, Darren went fishing all day with his uncle and cousin and then to baseball with the family to watch his sister play.  He was tired for bed at the end of the night but had a great time.  The next morning, Curt woke him up around 5:30 am to go riding horse in the mountains with him.  They got up and drove 31/2 hours, rode for 6 and then drove home another 31/2 hours.  They got home around 8 and Darren denied being tired but i sent him up to shower and brush his teeth for bed as we had church in the morning.  He went right to sleep.  Curt and I were laying in bed at 11:00pm reading when suddenly we heard him over the baby monitor struggling and gasping rythmically.  We ran upstairs and he was seizing on his bed, eyes wide open, fists clenched.  I could hear his tummy clenching and all the muscles in his chest were flexing hard and violently in short horrible jerks of his body.  When it was over he could answer our questions with a slow breathy "yeeeeeeees"  (Can you hear me?  Do you know what just happened? Are you scared?  Do you want to sleep with mom?)  Curt rediculously tried to make him walk downstairs but Darren just fell over and couldn't get up.  This is the only part Darren remembers of the seizure now.  He slept with me and we will move his bed into our room again.  i'm hoping that we haven't missed other seizures when we've had the monitor off.  This house is a lot bigger than the last one and you can't hear him as well.....I had lowered his Keppra to 250 mg in am and 500mg in pm as few months ago as he seemed to be too tired in the morning for his school work but now i will go back to the 1000/day regime and we will have to re-think summer camp which he is signed up for.  :(
