Just when I thought it couldn't get any worse.... it did.

I haven’t been able to get on here in forever so I figured that I am way overdue for a new blog. A lot has been going on lately and it seems like it’s never going to end or calm down.

We have been trying to get everything calmed down with Kaitlyn and right now her medicines seem to be working better and she seems to be happier. Just when things start to seem like they are better and maybe, just maybe we are getting a break from everything Nic calls me from work and tells me that he hurt his back. So that evening (Friday evening) he goes to the doctor and they tell him to take it easy…. Well all weekend he does alright. On Monday, he goes over to my parents house while I have the kids at the doctors and he is going to paint. I get a phone call when I was about 20 minutes from home and he tells me I have to hurry and get home because he can’t walk and just had to crawl up the stairs. I get home, get him to the car and take him to the ER. We get in there and they take him to a room, he can just barely walk and sits down on the bed… then all of the sudden he starts to get muscle spasms and can’t move his legs anymore. It was terrifying seeing him like this and knowing that this means that something is really wrong with his back. *On a side note, he has been having recurring dreams that he hurts his back and can’t work for extended amount of time* Anyway, so finally after some time in the ER they give him a bunch f pain medicines and valium and he starts to relax. They take him to do a x-ray and it comes back fine. So they keep him over night and did a MRI the following morning. He get’s the MRI done in the morning but doesn’t find out the results until 8:30 that night, and even that was only because I had to take Chris to the ER while we were there visiting Nic because he had an allergic reaction and an infection from his immunizations!! His leg swelled up to 3 times the size of the other one and he got a huge knot in his thigh that was 4 inches wide and long. UGH! Seriously, this has to be a joke right… no… this is our life. So they tell me that he has a herniated disc. They did an epidural the next day but that hasn’t helped and we go back for a follow up on Friday. He can’t work. He can’t drive. He can’t pick up more than 10 pounds and well our children weigh more than 10 pounds. So now I am the primary care taker. Ugh. To top off all of our stress, we ended up having to spend our Christmas saving on hospital bills and medications and gas all in that week while he was in the hospital. Ahh… how stressful. But actually something good has come out of it…. I have realized just how much I love him and how much we need each other. Before this happened we were on the outs and this has been what has pushed us back together. Oh well! Life!

Happy Holidays!
