Take control of your epilepsy and seizures. Seizure management has never been easier.
TAKE CONTROL TODAYI've been busy despite working only four days this week. I was back at The Lahey Clinic today for a PET scan with an EEG as the opening act at 7:15 this morning.
My Dad picked me up last night and I had dinner with the parents and spent the night there so I could make my crack o' dawn appointment.
I have to say the EEG was weird. I was monitored for 30 minutes (no simtulus), in a seated position. For some reason the PET scan people wanted me to be in a dark room alone with just the portable eeg. I think this was the first time I saw the actual display of my own scan as it happened; more benefits of digital workflows.
The difficult part of this set-up is they told me to stay awake. When it's 8 am and i don't have coffee or breakfast and am made comfortable and put into a dark room...well, it was hardest part of the test. The technician complimented my ability to withstand the sleeping instinct.
After that they gave me the IV isotope and I got into their scanner. In ten minutes it was over and I felt like Bill Bixby in The Incredible Hulk TV show intro.
"You wouldn't like me when I'm angry..."
Now back at home and may have freelance work next week. Standby...

hi tim, i am not foremelur with a pet scan what is that? i have seen my eegs since i was a kid though, its just recent that they took it off from paper where you can thumb thru it all and see every thing. now we are in the computer age and the eegs are connected to the computer. this is a 2000 thing. i believe in in the 90's they were all still on paper and i would look at it after the tech did it.
good luck on your results,
