Take control of your epilepsy and seizures. Seizure management has never been easier.
TAKE CONTROL TODAYWell, we are back to square one with the seizures it seems. He hadn't had a huge grandmal since he was on medication--- only 10 second long seizures that he was aware during. Then two days ago he had another big one. Strangely enough he was aware during it too though. He said he could hear our voices during the seizure but that the whole room was dark and moving and that we looked like "dark shapes" and he couldn't talk. His eyes were going, his toes even... all his muscles were twitching and contracting. It went on for almost a minute and then he said that he felt sick so i got him a bucket. Then he just "turned off" His eyes drooped shut and he fell into that deep sleep that only comes after a big seizure. He slept for 2 1/2 hours before getting up and felt fine, aside from what i call his "wave" headaches he has sometimes had after a seizure. We upped the clobazam and he is now at 20 mg/day (one pill in am, one in the pm) The pharmacist said that this is the therapeutic dose for him while the neuro said 30 mg/ day so i will have to phone the neuro regarding any furthur increases i guess? I'm thinking now that it would have been better to not wait so long to "up" the dosages. It has taken us 6 months to get to this point... and still wondering whether or not the drug will fail... if i had upped him within weeks as is normal, i would have known by now whether or not the drug was going to fail or succeed... and we could get on with it. So frustrating!...I know i won't "feel good" about any option i choose...
