Well, it's been 3 years since we started down the road of epilepsy with our son Darren.  This November 16th will not only mark my youngest daughters' birthday, it will also mark Darren's first grand mal seizure that we witnessed and his diagnosis....not only that.  I am due with baby # 6!  Darren is bursting at the seams over his new brother who is due any day now.  He told me that when "Hauk" is born he is going to hold him until he's 21.  :)  Darren is our first child and almost 11.  After he was born we had 4 beautiful little girls and now, after all these years, another

Well, it has been 10 months that Darren has been on keppra and as far as we know has been seizure-free.  On Friday, Darren went fishing all day with his uncle and cousin and then to baseball with the family to watch his sister play.  He was tired for bed at the end of the night but had a great time.  The next morning, Curt woke him up around 5:30 am to go riding horse in the mountains with him.  They got up and drove 31/2 hours, rode for 6 and then drove home another 31/2 hours.  They got home around 8 and Darren denied being tired but i sent him up to shower and brush his teeth for bed a

It's 4:54 and Darren is in bed. He was supposed to run chores with his dad but was too tired. Curt got frustrated and told him to go do nothing then and so Darren came back in the house and crawled into bed. He has been bone weary...

well it is the second day on Keppra. Yesterday was totally normal but today he's been so tired. He cleaned out his chicken barn and did chores but he keeps complaining of feeling so tired. I'm really not convinced about the medication...

Funny how it feels like i'm waiting for something horrible to happen everytime we start a new drug. I wake up in the morning and wait until Carrie comes into my room. I'm listening for the seizures that only happen in the morning....

My son's Neurologist called me back today and said we had room to up the clobazam. He said that the clobazam seemed to be limiting the seizure spread somewhat. Darren is now aware during the seizures and able to talk during them...
