Epilepsy Foundation Arizona Wins Best Annual Gala

Arizona Foothills Magazine recently awarded the Epilepsy Foundation Arizona's 2016 Epilepsy Gala with its "Best Annual Gala" honor for the magazine’s “Best of Our Valley” competition. The black and purple, 1950s style event received over 50% of the votes and won by a landslide against 14 other major local non-profit events. Competition included galas hosted by the American Heart Association and the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society.

Hosting large events takes considerable time and effort, especially with a small staff and limited budget. The event's success was attributed to the collaboration between Executive Director Suzanne Matsumori and Program Manager Min Skivington. Min and Suzanne worked closely together to ensure the event was fun and engaging, increased epilepsy awareness, and raised much needed funds to support the many programs and services needed by people living with epilepsy in Arizona. Their accomplishment is a source of pride for everyone at the national and local Epilepsy Foundations who work hard every day to help people with seizures live to their fullest potential and strive for a future free of epilepsy.
