New Way to Describe a Seizure Emergency called Status Epilepticus

Epilepsy News From: Wednesday, November 04, 2015

The International League Against Epilepsy (ILAE) has published a report from a working group on Status Epilepticus. This group has recommended a new way to define and describe this seizure emergency. The revised terms and definitions address when a long seizure should be considered status epilepticus and the length of time before ongoing seizures leads to poor outcomes for the person in status.
